Four and five-year-olds crave the company of other children. Little Learners believes that children have much to learn from each other as well as from our teachers. The social skills that children learn at Little Learners will benefit them as they move into their formal education. Teachers model and encourage the children to share, take turns, and treating others with respect.
Little Learners offers a structured schedule that includes: Spanish, art, handwriting, reading, math and science. The classroom is organized in centers of activity, which include: writing, art, computer, block, dramatic play, library, and manipulatives. Group times for music, story reading, and active play are planned with the interests and attention span of three and four year olds in mind. The Little Learners Educational Center curriculum is based on themed units. Developmentally appropriate language, writing, math, science, art, music, and movement activities are included in these units.

Learning to read is one of the most important skills a child will develop. Little Learners Educational Center is dedicated to providing an excellent education for your child through our individualized reading program. Parents will also be informed on what they can do to partner with teachers in order to promote their child’s literacy development.
Our handwriting program uses a sequence to encourage the children to write the letters correctly. We begin with the letters that start with a long straight line, move to short lines, small curved lines, large curved lines and finish with the letters that do not fall into the categories. The children will move through the sequence at their own pace. Evaluations are available for each class in order to keep track of where the children are. Correct posture is very important at this stage of writing as the children are developing habits that will hinder or assist their writing for years
A majority of the weekly curriculum themes has a science related component and introduces specific information. Experiments, manipulatives, art, sensory table activities are planned. During open play children can go to the science center to work on and or explore, at there own pace, what they learned about the items during curriculum time.
